Quick Use Guide
FOR TRAINED USERS ONLY
This is a quick-reference guide only. It does not replace the Molift Smart 150 User Manual, sling instructions, or manual-handling training.
BEFORE EVERY USE
Check the hoist
No visible damage, cracks or loose/broken components.
Wheels move freely and the hoist is easy to manoeuvre.
Legs open and close correctly.
Sling bar and all detachable components are properly connected and secure.
Sling bar moves freely.
Check the sling
Correct sling for the person and transfer.
Correct size and configuration.
No fraying, tears, damage or excessive wear.
All attachment points/loops are secure and correctly fitted.
Check the hoist controls
Battery has sufficient charge.
No service/fault warning is displayed.
Emergency stop and emergency lowering functions are known and available.
STOP — DO NOT USE THE HOIST if you identify any fault, damage or condition that could affect safe operation. Report it to Rebound WA.
BEFORE LIFTING
Plan the transfer before starting.
Ensure the destination and transfer path are clear.
Position the hoist correctly for the transfer.
Ensure the wheelchair and sporting equipment are secure and ready to receive the person.
Apply wheelchair brakes where appropriate.
Fit the sling correctly according to the sling manufacturer's instructions.
Attach all required sling attachment points securely to the sling bar.
Check the sling and attachment points again before lifting.
LIFTING & TRANSFERRING
Raise the person slowly and smoothly.
Keep the person and sling clear of surrounding equipment.
Continuously monitor the person's position and comfort.
Move the hoist carefully — do not push or pull the person or sling.
Position the person over the destination.
Lower slowly and ensure they are properly supported before removing the sling.
NEVER
❌ Exceed the hoist's 150 kg Safe Working Load.
❌ Use damaged or unsuitable slings.
❌ Use the hoist if there is a fault or safety concern.
❌ Leave a person suspended in the hoist unattended.
❌ Use the hoist for purposes other than its intended transfer function.
❌ Attempt a transfer you have not been trained or assessed to perform safely.
AFTER USE
Ensure the person is safely transferred and the sling is removed as appropriate.
Check the hoist for any damage or issues arising during use.
Report any fault, damage, unusual noise or other issue that may affect safe use to Rebound WA immediately.
Return the hoist to Storage Shed 3.
Ensure Storage Shed 3 is closed and secured after returning the hoist.
EMERGENCY
If something goes wrong:
STOP.
Keep the person safe and supported.
Use the hoist's emergency functions if required and if you have been trained in their use.
Seek assistance if necessary.
If the hoist is suspected to be unsafe, do not use it again until it has been assessed.
Remember: Safe operation depends on the correct hoist, sling, transfer technique, environment and trained operator. When in doubt — do not proceed.
