Wheelchair Rugby WA & the West Coast Enforcers
Wheelchair Rugby is a sport designed specifically to accommodate participants who have an impairment in at least three limbs – it is one of very few sports designed this way rather than adapted from a mainstream sport and so it looks different from anything you may have seen before!
New participants are always welcome, sports chairs are supplied and don’t worry, all our players will help ensure a safe and comfortable introduction to the sport – they were all the new person once too!
Currently our primary training and play night is Wednesdays 7pm to 9pm at the Herb Graham Recreation Centre in Mirrabooka.
As the only Wheelchair Rugby competition in WA some of our players commute for over an hour each way to play!
Spectators are always welcome.
At a higher level of competition, representing WA, are the West Coast Enforcers.
Selected from participants in the Wheelchair Rugby WA program the team compete in the Wheelchair Rugby National Championships.
With the team in a rebuilding phase currently we were very proud to have an all WA team compete in the first ever National Championship Division 2 in 2021. The team came away with Gold which was a fantastic reward for all the hard work of selected players, team staff and volunteers, as well as all our regular participants on Wednesday nights.
Think you’ve got what it takes to join the West Coast Enforcers or simply interested in trying Wheelchair Rugby?
