QV1 Descent

The QV1 Descent is Western Australia’s highest single pitch building abseil which challenges people to confront their fears and descend down one of Perth’s tallest buildings. In 2022, the Descent will take place in April (exact date TBC). The QV1 building on St Georges Terrace in Perth’s CBD is 40 storeys high offering a thrilling 160m abseil to participants and will now also offer a Zip Line option to the ground as well as the possibility to descend FORWARDS (!) for participants that have previously completed the descent.

The event is facilitated by Urban Descent which runs descents in Perth as well as Brisbane and Sydney. The descent is tried and tested and run by former SAS operative and expert abseiler Terry Hewett OAM, who has been successfully and safely running similar events across Australia for over 40 years. Terry and his team will provide support every step of the way.

How it Works

The QV1 descent requires all participants to attend a pre-abseil training session prior to the event day. This will cover all the important steps to provide you with a clear understanding of the techniques required for your descent.

If you have already completed a QV1 Descent, please contact Tim prior to your registration as this will need to be verified to receive a training exemption.

All participants must pay a $150 registration fee, which partially covers the costs of running the event and the mandatory training. In addition to this, participants have a minimum fundraising amount of $850, to help cover Rebound WA’s costs and help our charity to deliver ongoing programs for people with a disability.

Fundraise $1250 and we will refund your initial payment thereby allowing you to abseil for free!  On top of that, this amount also entitles you abseil first then have a second, much faster, go down the building on the Building Top Zipline!
